Mapping Matter CSV Import
Mapping Matter can export projector configurations as CSV files. Experience Designer reads the supported fields and recreates the projector layout.
Importing a CSV file
- Open the user menu and choose Import from….
- Choose Mapping Matter (.csv) and select the exported file.
- Experience Designer validates the headers, converts coordinates, and adds valid projector rows to the scene.
Imported CSV data
The importer accepts the standard Mapping Matter column names. The main imported fields are:
| Data | Standard column |
|---|---|
| Name | Projector_Name |
| Resolution | Projector_Native-Rez-X and Projector_Native-Rez-Y |
| Brightness | Projector_Lumens(lux) |
| Throw ratio | Projector_Trow-Ratio |
| Lens shift | Lens_Shift-H(%) and Lens_Shift-V(%) |
| Lens position | Lens_X, Lens_Y, and Lens_Z |
| Orientation | Pitch(deg), Yaw(deg), and Roll(deg) |
| Dimension unit | Unit_Dim |
Some common alternate headers, such as Name, Resolution, Brightness, Throw Ratio, x, y, and z, are also recognised.
Validation
If required position, orientation, lens, brightness, or resolution columns are missing, the import reports them. Rows with missing or invalid values may be skipped and listed in the import warnings.
After import
All imported projectors appear in the Scene panel and can be selected, edited, and analysed like manually placed projectors.
Note: Mapping Matter CSV import does not import screens or surfaces. You will need to add matching surfaces manually to run analysis in Experience Designer.
