Analysis
Analysis tools help you check coverage, brightness, image detail, viewing conditions, and LED layouts before installation. Each analysis adds a visual overlay to the scene and opens a results panel with the most useful values.
Run an analysis
- Add the scene items needed for the check, such as projectors, screens, cameras, LED walls, or eyepoints.
- Open the Analysis section in the workspace toolbar.
- Select a mode from Choose analysis….
- Review its options and select Run Analysis.
- Use Clear to remove the result, or Re-run Analysis after changing the scene.
Most analysis results are a snapshot of the current scene. If you move or edit an object, the results panel warns that the result may be out of date. Run the analysis again to refresh it. Live camera coverage updates while it is active.
Some analysis modes depend on your account plan. LED modes become available after an LED wall is added to the scene.
Choose the right mode

Brightness
Brightness displays a heatmap across all screens that receive projection. Use it to find dim areas, bright areas, and unwanted differences across the image.
Choose a measurement type that matches your project:
- Lux or foot-candles (fc) for light arriving at the screen.
- Foot-lamberts (ft-L) or nits (cd/m²) for the brightness seen from the screen.
The Brightness Factor lets you plan below a projector's maximum output. For example, use a lower value when allowing for operating headroom or reduced output over time.
Enable Account for overlap blending when the projectors will be blended. This gives a more useful result for the finished image instead of treating the overlap as extra brightness.
After running the analysis, use the heatmap and the minimum, average, and maximum values to look for uneven areas. The colour scale can remain on Auto, or you can set a custom range when checking against a specific target.
Warp & Blend
Warp & Blend previews one continuous image across all active projectors.
- Choose default grid for a clear alignment pattern.
- Choose Custom Texture… to preview your own content.
Run the analysis and check that the image crosses projector boundaries as expected. Dark areas are not covered. The results panel also shows the blended screen coverage.
Projector Coverage
Projector Coverage shows which parts of each screen are reached by one or more projectors. It also takes visible obstacles in the scene into account.
Use the overlay and its legend to identify:
- Areas with no projected image.
- Areas covered by one projector.
- Blend areas covered by two or more projectors.
The results panel shows total screen coverage, overlap information, and a breakdown for each projector. Adjust projector placement, aiming, or lens settings, then run the analysis again.
Camera Coverage
Camera Coverage helps position cameras around the scene. The result shows the visible screen area for each camera and where camera views overlap.
Two modes are available:
- Live camera coverage colours the screen by camera visibility. Enable Show real projector output if you also want to see the projected image.
- Projector dot pattern shows which projected regions can be seen by the cameras. This is useful when planning camera-based projector calibration.
Live camera coverage requires at least one camera and one screen. Projector dot pattern also requires at least one visible projector.
Pixel Density
Pixel Density shows how tightly projected pixels are placed across the screen. This helps you check whether the design has enough detail for text, graphics, or close viewing.
Choose either:
- Pixels per meter (px/m): higher values mean more image detail in the same screen area.
- Pixel size (mm): lower values mean finer projected pixels.
The results panel shows the minimum, average, and maximum values. Pay particular attention to the weakest areas of the screen, not only the average.
Pixel Resolution
Pixel Resolution shows how projected detail appears from a selected viewing position.
- Add an eyepoint at the intended viewer position.
- Select that eyepoint in the analysis options.
- Leave Kell Factor at its default unless your project specification requires a different value.
- Select Run Analysis.
Lower arcmin/OLP values represent finer visible detail. The results include minimum, average, and maximum values and viewing thresholds that can help compare different eyepoint positions.
Projection Quality
Projection Quality helps find areas where projector placement may cause distortion or uneven focus.
Choose a metric:
- Combined is the best general overview.
- Incidence Angle Only checks how directly the projector faces the screen. Values closer to 90° are more direct.
- Focus Homogeneity Only checks how consistently the projected area can remain in focus.
For the combined and focus results, a higher percentage is better. Move or re-aim projectors and run the analysis again to compare layouts.
LED Content Resolution
LED Content Resolution reports the content size needed for every visible LED wall. It shows:
- Total pixel count and resolution.
- Aspect ratio.
- Panel layout.
- Resolution of each panel.
Use these values when preparing media, configuring a canvas, or checking that the LED wall was entered correctly.
LED Pixel Distance
LED Pixel Distance shows the physical distance from a selected eyepoint to different parts of an LED wall.
- Add an eyepoint at the intended viewer position.
- Select LED Pixel Distance and choose the eyepoint.
- Select Run Analysis.
The heatmap and minimum, average, and maximum values make it easy to find the nearest and farthest parts of flat or curved LED walls.
Reading results
- Always read the values beside the colour scale; colours represent the range of the current analysis.
- Use Auto range for a quick overview.
- Use a custom range when checking a known project requirement or comparing alternatives.
- Hover over a colour scale to highlight matching areas in the scene where available.
- Run the analysis again after changing projector, screen, camera, LED, or eyepoint settings.
For a new projector design, a useful order is Projector Coverage → Brightness → Pixel Density or Pixel Resolution → Projection Quality → Warp & Blend. Add Camera Coverage or the LED modes when they apply to the project.
If an analysis cannot run
Check that:
- The required scene items listed above are present and visible.
- Projection screens have Receive Projection enabled.
- The selected eyepoint is visible.
- Projectors are aimed toward a screen.
- The mode is included in your account plan.
