Projector Arrays
Projector arrays let you create multiple projectors in one step and automatically generate a truss that matches the layout. This is the fastest way to build straight rows or circular rigs without placing every projector manually.
Creating a projector array
- Click Add Projector.
- In the projector library modal, open Multi-Projector Options.
- Set Quantity to
3or any other number of projectors you need. - In Arrangement, choose
LinearorCircular. - Select the projector model you want to use, then click Add.
When you add more than one projector, Experience Designer creates the array as a group. The generated group also shows a truss automatically, so the array is easier to position and read in the scene.
Linear arrays
Choose Linear when you want projectors in a straight row or a staggered line.
- Use Spacing (m) to set the distance between projectors before adding them.
Xcontrols left-to-right spacing.Ycontrols vertical spacing.Zcontrols front-to-back spacing.
After the array is created, select the projectors and use Spacing & Add in the properties panel:
- Side changes the left-to-right spacing.
- Up changes the vertical spacing.
- Front changes the depth spacing.
- Add Spaced Projector appends another projector to the same linear array.
- Remove Spaced Projector removes the last projector from the array.
Circular arrays
Choose Circular when you want a ring or arc of projectors around a center point.
- In the add-projector dialog, set Quantity to
3or more. - Choose Circular in Arrangement.
- Set Radius (m) to control how far the projectors sit from the center.
- Click Add to generate the circular array and its truss.
After the array is created, select the projectors and open Circular Arrangement in the properties panel:
- Radius (m) makes the circle larger or smaller.
- Arc (ยฐ) changes the layout from a full circle to a partial arc.
- Rotate (ยฐ) rotates the whole array around its center.
- Face Inward points the projectors toward the center.
- Face Outward points the projectors away from the center.
- Add Circular Projector adds another projector and redistributes the array evenly.
- Remove Circular Projector removes the last projector and redistributes the remaining projectors.
Editing the generated truss
The truss is generated with the projector array so the structure follows the layout automatically. Moving the group keeps the projectors and truss together.
- Linear arrays generate a straight truss.
- Circular arrays generate a circular truss.
If you need to fine-tune the setup, select the array and adjust the projector spacing or circular radius first. The truss display follows the array shape, which keeps the rig readable while you iterate.
Typical workflow
- Create the array from Add Projector.
- Use
LinearorCirculardepending on the rig shape. - Select the generated group in the scene.
- Refine spacing, radius, arc, or rotation in the properties panel.
- Add or remove projectors until the layout matches the real installation.
